Home goods can be found, at innumerable places throughout the city. From megastores to corner shop, all of Shanghai is a treasure trove for everything from Hello Kitty home décor to Persian rugs.

For the basics, head to IKEA. They have (almost) everything for the home, including tems for kitchen, bath, floors, and décor.

HomeMart and B&Q are both chain stores for home improvement and DIY supplies, carrying home lighting, carpets, appliances, and home renovation supplies.

Superstores like Carrefour and Lotus carry a vast quantity of home goods.

The Light Textile Market (1618 Cao An Lu), also known as the curtain market, consists of a maze of vendors on the northwest side of town who carry fabric for tailor made curtains. The market also has vendors for carpets (custom cut and ready made), sofa foam and upholstery, bedding sheets and duvets, custom made pillows covers, and myriads of small items for the home.

All manner of kitchen supplies can be found at the shops at Shanghai Hotel Equipment Corp (345 Aomen Lu, 6266 9988, www.hec.com.cn), a three story warehouse of everything imaginable for kitchen and dining needs.
Pantry Magic (1 Taojiang Lu, 6466 9099) carries high-end kitchenware and spices.

Metro Hypermarket stocks a good selection of kitchen, bed, and bath goods.

EuroArt (399 Yishan Lu, 6481 0048, www.euroart-sh.com) and Shanghai Home Expo (1263 Wuzhong Lu, 6405 6890, www.shanghaihomeexpo.com) are both department stores for home goods including curtains, wallpaper, and fixtures.

For higher end accents, head to Xintiandi. Especially notable for home treasures are Annabelle Lee (Unit 3, House 3, North Block, 6320 0045) and Simply Life (181 Taicang Lu; 6387 5100).
