Because nothing says "Future" like robots. Thirty-seven of these lean, mean, baby-blue bad boys will go up at both Shanghai international airports and some expo sites. They have touch-screen chests, they will answer expo questions in six languages, they will help you take pictures, and just when we start taking them for granted they'll turn on us and make the human race their slave colony. Always the trouble with robots.

Don’t suffer in solitude in Shanghai

Living in Shanghai can be a stressful experience at the best of times.  For those carrying an additional burden such as depression, family conflict, addiction or any other psychological challenge the pressure can become unbearable. But don’t suffer alone. If you need mental health services, help is available in Shanghai.

Easy-going, open-minded and not American!

O Canada! Friendly, welcoming, laid back, open minded, easy going and an extremely personable people. The complete opposite of their neighbors in the US (their words, not ours!) they are proud of their heritage, but not obnoxious….

Where they go
As outgoing people they can be found partying with the best of them all across the city. Your best bet on your average day would be the Big Bamboo (especially when the hockey is on), owned as it is by Whistler native Bryce Jenner. This will be even truer if Canuck Connection, a monthly mixer for Canadians and friends of the Canadian community organized by the Canadian Chamber, comes to be held on a weekly basis in the Bamboo every Friday night, as it is expected to be from the middle of this month onwards.

Orchid genes

Nature vs. Nurture. A phrase we all know the meaning of, and probably have an opinion on, yet few of us understand the science those three words represent. Since Darwin created this dichotomy, scientists of varying disciplines have combined their efforts in an attempt to elucidate the Nature vs. Nurture conundrum. Some would argue we have only achieved the Socratic realization of our ignorance. However, research published within the last ten years has elicited a new perspective and reframed the question from Nature vs. Nurture to Nature and Nurture.

Improving your posture

A good posture contributes to more than just an attractive appearance; it is actually good for you. Maintaining proper alignment of your spine prevents abnormal weight bearing across your joints, minimizes undue stress being loaded on your ligaments and keeps a healthy length-tension ratio between opposite muscle groups. Good posture is more efficient as it takes less energy for your muscles to maintain and thus reduces the chance of developing muscle fatigue and injuries from overuse.

If your posture does need correcting, you first need to find out what should be adjusted. Even for those of us who’ve been repetitively told by a friend or loved one to ‘straighten up,’ it’s not always clear what exactly is wrong with your posture. A physical therapist can assess and then identify what parts of your posture which may require correction.
