“Music produces a kind of pleasure which human nature cannot do without.”

Confucius wrote this a long time ago and I agree. If we didn’t have music, we wouldn’t remember parts of our lives. You don’t want to erase a big and important part of your life, just because there is no music. Music is something everybody listens to. People listen to music because it gives them peace, happiness and understanding.

Understanding is a big deal. When I have homework and it is incomprehensible, I listen to music and that helps me understand it. Imagination is also part of music. If the song says: “It’s raining men!” I see it in my mind. Stress is a small word but has a big meaning and music will reduce stress if you hear the right music. When I am having big problems, I listen to music that gets the stress goes away.

When I listen to music I remember my friends laughing with me and my family playing board games with the radio on. Remembering things because of music is a good reason why people listen to it. If you move to another country and you listen to music on the plane to America you will remember what you did with friends that you are not in contact with anymore.

One song that I like is “Shadow of the Day” by LinkinPark. When I listen to this song I remember that I sung this with my best friend on a talent show. I can still imagine singing on that stage with a big smile when I hear that song. I also understand why I feel this way. It is all part of our lives.
