This classic Italian restaurant is a local treasure, featuring some of the best Sicilian/Roman-style food in town. It occupies a former military establishment close to the foreign consulate zone. The unpretentious neighborhood setting, saturated with old French Concession and even Old World charm, help to establish its position as a dining landmark. Shared oak tables create a hearty kitchen feel and sense of togetherness, augmented by a playful combination of lighting and large classic movie photographs, lending the venue a bold, distinctly modern and also light-hearted touch. Expect great cotoletta, friendly service, and freshly-made traditional southern-Italian thin-crust pizza with more than 28 flavors that tastes simply heavenly.

Must-try dish: Astice Alla Catalana (an entire large Boston Lobster with cherry tomato, olive oil, onion, fennel and grapefruit, for two persons) – RMB 398

Frequenters: a mixture of locals and foreigners living and working around the area

Price of a good dinner for two persons: about RMB 500, including appetizer, main course, dessert and wine.
