Shock, horror: Ang Lee confesses to taking marijuana as a student. 

This could explain The Hulk.

While in Cannes promoting his new movie Taking Woodstock, Lee confessed he had tried marijuana when he was studying abroad. And then the sensational comment that almost sounds like he has gay-threesome-narcolepsy: "I dozed off after taking two puffs." And then all he could remember was muttering in broken English and speaking Mandarin incessantly.

But all Hulk sins were washed away with Lust, Caution, the film he made in our adopted home. In fact, Ang Lee even used the Urbanatomy office bathroom for a toilet break during shooting on our street... The glamour!
