I believe it was either Heraclitus or Dean Martin that once said, "No one drinks the same martini twice." Well, Mesa/Manifesto are proof positive. For the past few months they've been pioneers in 'free-style mixology' with their My-tinis.
Here's how it works: You get a list of various mixers and garnishes like fresh berries, citrus fruits, herbs like basil or mint, coffee etc. And it's your job to mix and match to come up with your own custom-made martini. It's kind of like picking out a color scheme for your dining room set, except it's a lot more fun and you get drunk in the process! A typical My-tini consists of vodka and three mixers. Choosing the mixers is crucial, it could make or break your drink. Here are a few combinations that have worked for me:
Coffee, chocolate and chilli
Cucumber, mint and apple
Lime, mango and chilli
But don't take my word for it. Each bartender has his or her own interpretation of your combination. So, like a snowflake or fingerprint, each My-tini is unique.
