Friday, 30 July 2010 05:07 Written by Urbanatomy ChinaJoy (China Digital Entertainment Expo & Conference) is in town. It began yesterday and runs through August 1st at Shanghai New Expo center. It's pretty much what it sounds like: a conference for people in the gaming industry. But what gaming conference would be complete without some sexy cosplay! Slideshows of girls in sailor suits and what not at Shanghaiist and CNNgo. Xinhua says half a million free Expo ticket went unused for the month of July "despite the public's relentless fervor toward the extravagant fair..." This week in things you might not have known were illegal: map making. Global Times says most illegal map makers are foreign. Some American guy was sentenced to eight years in prison in Beijing earlier this month for making a map of Chinese oil fields...Oopsies. Making maps of "sensitive districts" (read: Tiananmen Square neighborhood) is also a no-no.
