So as the holiday season approaches, and outings multiply, Jinxian Lu makes for an attractive destination. This small road in the former French Concession, located between Shanxi Lu and Maoming Lu, is lined with restaurants offering a wide variety of different cuisines, with top spots including Chun, perhaps the world’s most unlikely recipient of international restaurant accolades with its authentic Shanghainese flavors and shabby lane house setting, the boutique-like Citizen Café, and the innovative Yunnan restaurant South Barbarian. Here are our three new recommendations for Jinxian Lu seasonal dining.
Osteria – Oyster Festival
A fine Italian restaurant with homely wood-beamed environment – the best place in the city to tantalize your palate with fresh oysters from the USA, Canada, Japan and France, complimented with more than 100 choices of imported wines.

During the Christmas season (Dec 01 -31), Osteria will be, for the very first time, launching its own Oyster Festival. For RMB 248, costumers will be entitled to 12 Oysters, one free glass of select white wine and a free desert.

If you’re looking for a Christmas feast pieced-together from many different kinds of well-selected dishes drawn from German, Italian, American and Russian cuisines, Le Cygne is the obvious choice.
