What's new in Shanghai's fashion world this month?

Sofapop By Rosemary Zhu
Designed by Norman Copenhagen, Sofapop is 100 percent Scandinavian (the name’s a giveaway). The award-winning Swing Vase is a mouth-blown sculpture that looks fine alone, but really comes into its own in the company of others in different colors. Among the best of the bunch is the series of funky couches and footrests with pop-ink patterns on them

Oakley By Rosemary Zhu
This sporty and high-tech outdoor brand recently made its debut on the mainland, and with it launched a series of sunglasses that meet the increasing demands of the outdoor activity enthusiast. The Livestrong Radar Path sunglasses are laser-etched and have interchangeable lenses. They come with a protective soft-vault case which lets you store an extra lens. Aside from innovative sunglasses, the iconic backpack, introduced more than a decade ago, now has tons of technological features such as a holster for your mobile phone, a pocket for your MP3 player, an internal organizer for your PDA/GPS-size device and a protection pocket for your laptop.

Bershka By Claudia Alder
This label is the more playful and trendier younger sister of Zara, and has just taken up residency in the new Channel One shopping mall. With the same ethos of low-cost, high-style fashion as their counterpart, Bershka is a little-more casual (and perhaps a little cheaper) but with a fiery injection of youthful urban energy. Colourful staples such as tank-tops and shorts (from around RMB69) are mixed with some funky pieces such as sequined pink and black strapless dresses and vibrant shoes and accessories.

Guess Jewelry By Rosemary Zhu
Prepare your fringe, leathers and beads because American fashion brand Guess is bringing hippie-chic back (again). The new autumn collection of Guess Jewelry includes the ranges Bohemia, Guess ID, Charm and Rock Star. These come as necklaces, charm bracelets, rings and earrings. The Bohemia line is adorned with yellow crystals and encased in bold designs with exotic style. The cute Charm line is perfect for the office through to the beach, with colorful little fruit trinkets, handbags, sunglasses and powder compact cases. Look out for their bling ranges and rock star ‘bad girl’ designs too.
