Wednesday, 23 September 2009 07:09 Written by Urbanatomy Originally established in the 1920's, the Shanghai Hockey Club is returning to former glory. The club meets every Saturday for a jolly god knock about and friendly game. Players are of mixed abilities and from mixed origins, with team mates hailing from the Netherlands, Germany, the UK, Spain, France, Belgium, India, China, Hong Kong and Australia. There are no league tables as of yet as the sport is too small, but the team do attend the regional tournaments in Hong Kong at the Hong Kong Football Club and the Kowloon Cricket Club. The Shanghai Hockey Club is also proud to be sponsored by O'Malleys Irish Pub and after each game the teams tend to gather at O'Malleys to cool down over some refreshments. Read more
