Giving Chinese school kids a sporting chance

Anybody who was out at last month’s hugely popular Shanghai Sevens Rugby tournament will know that exciting times are afoot at the Shanghai Rugby Football Club’s new grounds in Waigaoqiao. While still under development, the 85,000 sqm complex will eventually boast four standard grass pitches, a flood-lit artificial turf pitch, a standard cricket pitch, six flood-lit tennis courts and 3,000 sqm of clubhouse space. With the expansion comes a commitment to give something back, and one aim is to help develop sport in Chinese schools across Shanghai by making their facilities and expertise available to them through the SRFC in the Community program.
