Ishikawa, who turned professional last year, became eligible for the event by winning the Tokai Classic earlier this month, his fourth title of the year and sixth overall, putting him at the top of the Japanese money rankings. He has played three majors this year, missing the cut at the Masters and the British Open and finishing tied for 56th at the U.S. PGA Championship. However, at 18, he is the hottest new prospect in Asia. And Shanghai is a real chance for him to show the Asian crowd wh yhe is rated so highly.
